Choose Hi-Efficiency Gas Boilers from MSC Heating
Since all new boilers are required to be condensing boilers – able to reclaim and reuse latent heat before it escapes into the atmosphere – they are far more energy efficient than their predecessors. The reclamation of this latent heat increases the efficiency of the boiler from the 75% of yesterday to more than 90% today, which translates into significant savings on your monthly energy bill.
Conventional Boilers
A conventional boiler, sometimes known as a ‘regular’ boiler is perfectly suited to home with a traditional heating/hot water system already in place that is hooked up to a hot water tank. A conventional boiler can be the best option when replacing an old boiler in a home that has an old radiator heating system. In general however conventional boilers are:
Ideal for larger homes with more than one bathroom
An excellent choice for locations where water pressure is often low
Ideal for homes where hot water is being drawn from several outlets simultaneously
Environmentally responsible as they can be used in conjunction with solar water heating systems
Combi Boilers
A combi or combination boiler serves a dual purpose. It’s both a highly efficient water heating system as well as a central heating system boiler at the same time. A combi boiler eliminates the need for hot and cold water storage tanks by heating water as it comes straight from the main lines. This process of heating water ‘as needed’ increases energy efficiency as there is no need to continually warm stored water.
Combi boilers are:
- Perfect for homeowners looking to minimize their carbon footprint
- Ideal for homes lacking space to accommodate a hot water cylinder
- Ideal for homes with limited or no loft space for a cold water tank
- Typically cheaper to install because fewer pipes are involved
System Boilers
Like conventional gas boilers a system boiler requires a hot water cylinder to store water. However, with a system boiler the components of the heat and hot water system are already built into the boiler making for an easier installation. In addition there’s no need for a cold water tank in the loft; an attractive space saving feature.
System boilers are:
- Easier to install than conventional boilers
- An excellent choice for homes with multiple bathrooms
- An excellent choice for environmentally conscious homeowners
- Ideal for homes with limited or no loft space for a cold water tank
LPG Boilers
The difference between conventional gas boilers and LPG boilers is that instead of the gas being supplied to your home using an underground network of pipes, LPG is supplied in bottles/cylinders. Predominantly, it is normally used in rural areas where the network of natural gas piping is not available. LPG is viewed as being more environmentally friendly than natural gas. An LPG boiler will require the gas supply to be replaced at regular intervals with replenished gas bottles/cylinders.
Whether your home is powered by a natural gas boiler or an LPG boiler we can help find the right boiler for your home.
